60 Second Photoshoots

“Jeremy Cowart is unlike any photographer working today. His portrait work is spontaneous, unpredictable, and improvisational. He has invented the photography equivalent of jazz music. When Jeremy is behind the camera, you are not merely getting your picture taken; you are collaborating in a work of art.”

— Nathan Harden

FAQ

  • Can I bring props?

Yes, we love props and highly encourage it. Most people don’t bring props, which is fine. But we’ve seen some really cool results with good props.

  • Can I change clothes during the 90 seconds?

Yes, we’ve already had people do up to 3 clothing tweaks during their 90 seconds. Taking off the hat, taking off the glasses. One person even wore 3 layers of shirts/jackets and kept removing layers every 20 seconds or so. It was awesome.

  • Can you photograph kids?

Jeremy has already photographed a lot of kids for this process and kids are doing great. What ages? It entirely depends on the kid and their willingness to do it. But in theory, ages 4 and up are workable from what we’ve experienced so far.

  • Where is the studio?

Jeremy’s studio is located in The Factory in Franklin, TN. We’ll send you very specific instructions once you book a portrait.

  • Do I need to be a model?

Absolutely not. These shoots are for all ages, body shapes and sizes, old and young. All are welcome. If you’re a model however, these are great shoots for your modeling portfolio.

  • What do I wear?

You can wear whatever you’d like. Remember, these photos are for you to have forever. So we don’t want to sway you one way or another.

  • How can I use my images?

You can use them however you’d like with a few commercial use exceptions. Book covers or album covers or general advertising would be negotiated separately. But please use them for headshots, social media, general publicity and whatever else you’d like.

  • How many people can be in my photo?

The 60-second shoots are for individuals only. One person per shoot. It’s just too quick of a process to try and position multiple people the right way. If you want to bring a couple, group or family, we’d recommend booking sessions for EACH person. There are some really cool ways to present or frame all of your individual portraits as a collage.

  • I'm nervous. I've never done this before.

We know. Nearly every single person says that when they walk into the studio. Standing in front of a camera will forever be an awkward, vulnerable experience. You just have to own it. Jeremy will make you comfortable and will walk you through the process.

  • Can you photograph a couple or a group?

It’s a very small setup and a very tight squeeze. Couples should be fine. A group of 3 should work too. Once we get into 4 or 5 people, it’s just not going to look great at all. We do not recommend this process AT ALL for family portraits. With multiple people trying to pose together in 1 minute, it just gets awkward and you’ve waisted your money. This process shines the most with individuals. If you want your family photographed, we highly recommend booking a shoot for each individual and then making a collage of the results. Collages of this process look way cooler than a family portrait anyway.

Testimonials

“Jeremy is the ultimate creative professional. He’s experimental and decisive. He’s innovative and relatable. He works quickly yet in a very conversational way. In the portrait session, he made me feel like I mattered without wasting any time. He’s that friend who knows where he’s going, yet makes the people around him feel like they’re a significant part of the journey.”

Rob Vischer

"One of the most introspective and cathartic experiences I've ever been surprised by. I anticipated nerves because I come from the preference of standing in front of a firing squad over the camera. What I did not anticipate was seeing myself in a proverbial different light while he utilized his command of light. The process was refreshingly relaxed and Jeremy was engaging and showed authentic interest in who I am and why I was there. Seeing yourself as someone else sees you, even just for a moment, is revitalizing. The pictures are beautiful and by the end of your time you feel like you actually belong in them.”

Katie Beth Gill

“Having the experience of working with a photographer that has positively impacted my life over the years was a surreal moment in my life. This session represents all the challenges life has thrown at me over the years and refocusing my attention to the positive aspects of my life.”
